Local Tip
This is really a trail head area, with 4 free campsites, no potable water, and a couple trail options. It is a beautiful area, with old growth trees and flat tent sites. At 8,400 feet of elevation and a 3.5 miles of rugged dirt road (sawmill rd.) to get there, make sure you have a vehicle that can make it and you have everything you need to enjoy the wild. And of course….know what you are doing!
