Parker Lake
This is a popular hike for locals and visitors alike. With one of the lower elevation gains for hikes in the area, Parker Lake trail is friendly for a variety of hiking abilities. Don’t let the initial uphill get you out of breath, the trail will flatten out. The Lake itself is good for blowing up your inflatable paddle board, or hiking around the area with a packed lunch. Make sure you get a map and plan the desired adventure for your group’s ability.

There is a trail option and sign that points to Silver Lake from the Parker Lake trail. If you take that trail (commonly known here as Parker Bench trail) be prepared for an extra 5.3 miles and 2,000 feet of elevation loss and 900+ feet of elevation gain taking you to the Rush Creek Trail head at Silver Lake. During fall, this is an amazing spot for foliage and high views of Silver Lake. This trail option is difficult and not low lander friendly.
